When you have a new carpet fitted, consider having it protected by a proprietary stain protector such as Scotchgard
Vacuum clean your carpets at least once or twice per week, using a quality vacuum cleaner
Change your vacuum cleaner bag/empty the collection vessel regularly
Deal with any spills or stains as soon as possible – see our First Aid section
Make use of footmats at the entrance to your rooms
Have your carpets regularly cleaned by a carpet cleaning professional.
